NECK AND BACK
Acupressure on the Mysa Mat and Pillow as a natural remedy for neck and back pain
Here is the main reason why acupressure mats are used all over the world: to relieve localized or widespread pain in the neck, back and lower back.
Here is how to use the Mysa acupressure mat to treat neck and back pain in the comfort of your own home.
Rest your bare back on the mat. If you feel cold, cover yourself with a blanket. The mat must be placed on a relatively hard surface such as the floor or a carpet, but also a mattress or an armchair.
In case of pain in the lower back, it is advisable to bend your legs, making sure your heels lightly touch your glutes, in order to increase the pressure of the tips on the lower back.
If you already have a mat, place a rolled-up mat under it. This will allow you to achieve a better contact between the microtips and the neck muscles and target the neck region more effectively. Alternatively, you can purchase our super-comfortable Mysa Thermo Pillow.
In fact, when pain is widespread, starting in the neck region and extending to the lumbar/sacral region, we recommend combining a Mysa mat and an acupressure pillow, i.e. our Thermo Mysa Duo.
Effect: Stimulation of the acupressure points located on the back and of the radial nerves. It also promotes a feeling of general wellbeing, helps relieve back pain and facilitates sleep.
To treat chronic neck pain, please use:
• Mysa Thermo Pillow (Green)
• Mysa ThermoMag Pillow (Orange)
Method and frequency of use
Lie down and place your Mysa Thermo Pillow under your neck.
Rest your neck and trapezius (upper back muscle) on it in a homogeneous manner. Try to avoid contact between the head/scalp and the microtips. This can be uncomfortable and provides only limited benefits.
Breathe from the diaphragm (lower stomach) and feel your body get rid of tension and muscle stiffness.
We recommend sessions of 20-40 minutes, any time you want.
This position also helps relieve tension-type headaches and neck stiffness (caused by stress or an incorrect posture due to too much time spent in front of a PC or in a car). It also facilitates sleep (if the mat is used in the evening before bedtime).
Falling asleep on a Mysa acupressure pillow is not harmful. You will wake up slightly pockmarked, but the marks left by the microtips will disappear in a few minutes.
Nevertheless, we recommend moving the pillow away as soon as you start feeling snoozy and continue sleeping normally.
