MUSCLE STIFFNESS

THE MYSA ACUPRESSURE MAT AS A NATURAL REMEDY TO RELAX STIFF MUSCLES

Here is how to use your Mysa Mat and Pillow to loosen up stiff and tense muscles in various areas of the body.

If the muscles in question are located in your back or glutes (from the shoulder to the sacral region), lie on your Mysa mat, making sure the stiffest area is firmly pressed against the microtips.

If the tight muscles are those in the lumbar region, bend your knees or place your feet on an elevated surface (you can also use a chair—see picture below).

It would be advisable to place a support (a rolled-up towel or a pillow) under the mat, aligning it with the area where tension and pain are more severe.

Our Mysa Hot ErgonoPad ergonomic support is ideal for this purpose. It can be neatly inserted into any Mysa mat, allowing its users to target the affected areas more comfortably and effectively.

Moreover, our special back support can be warmed up before being placed in the area where muscles are tight. And this lets its users take advantage of the well-known muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving properties of heat.

If muscle stiffness occurs in the neck region, it would be preferable to use our Mysa Thermo Pillow.

The latter can be used on its now, but in this case it would only target the neck and shoulder region. It is true this is the region where tension most frequently builds up after a day at work, in front of a PC or in a car stuck in traffic, but often it is not the region where such pain originates. At the same time, pain originating in this region does frequently radiate to the whole of the back.

It is for this reason that our pillow not only loosens up tension in the neck muscles, but also relieves pain in the back and, through reflexology, the limbs. This ensures a more complete relief from pain and, by “lightening the load” on the spine, it improves posture and general wellbeing, preventing the onset of new imbalances and stiffness.

Timing:

Follow the procedure twice a day for 30-40 minutes.

Lastly, please find below a picture of the spots where the heaviest loads tend to accumulate and, consequently, where muscle tension and stiffness are most prevalent (causing pain and an incorrect posture). These are the very areas that Mysa’s acupressure must target precisely and decisively.
